We are recruiting for the following positions for a large Construction
Company in Dubai. This company has successfully completed landmark
MEP Projects in the Gulf such as Burj (World's tallest building),
Wafi Mall, Mall of Emirates, Ferrari, Formula One, to name a few..
All positions are very specific,

1. Construction Manager - Ref Con001
Responsible for: All site staff
Reports to: Project Director/Dy.PD
Objective: To manage all site installations and coordination of
all MEP works during execution phase. To provide safe working environment
and acceptable conditions at site.
Qualifications: B.E / Diploma (Mechanical / Electrical)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Carrying out the tasks identified by the Project Director / Dy.
Project Director.
Complying with all Company policies, quality procedures, statutory
regulations and project specifications.
Overseeing the actual progress of construction.
Implementation of approved programme of works and updating schedules
with planning engineers.
Coordination of all activities at site and resolving day to day
technical issues at site with supervisors.
Coordination with Main Contractor’s MEP Coordinator and Civil
Team regarding all aspects of MEP work at site. Main initiator for
giving MEP Clearance to Main contractor.
Coordinate with Main contractor’s civil team/ MEP coordinator
for obtaining clearance to proceed with MEP works.
Ensuring that the quality of material and installation of work in
accordance with the acceptance criteria identified for the project.
Check the sequence of work and ensure safe plan for moving the machinery
and equipment as planned.
Ensuring that the work is completed in accordance with the specified
Quality Management and Control system and in a safe manner.
Responsible for initiating on site quality control inspections.
Advising Project Director/ Engineers on manpower, material and plant
requirements for construction activities.
Issuing instructions to the Site Engineers/Supervisors to complete
the work in accordance with Project Planning and Schedules and allocating
resources.
Monitoring all Sub-contracts work closely to ensure that the Quality
of the work is as per specification and is completed on time.
Review of short term planning and advising the Project Director
on any anticipated problems.
Providing budgetary information regarding requirement of manpower
at site
Monitoring and compiling relevant information on production rates.
Conducting daily meetings with site staff to organize work for the
day/next day.
Preparation of daily reports and daily construction programmes
To establish and implement Productivity Monitoring and improvement
procedures for ensuring savings on labour costs. Compile and analyse
data regarding productivity and share it with tender estimation
team / KM Portal. Carry out joint goal setting of direct reportees,
conduct their formal appraisals & feedback sessions at least
twice a year, identify their training needs, encourage them to attend
development initiatives, participate in mentoring initiatives and
implement action plans for improved Employee Engagement.
2. Contracts Manager - Ref Contr001
1. Review and advise the Regional Director (RD) and Business Development
Manager (BDM) on commercial conditions of new tenders, identifying
and quantifying clearly the risks involved.
2. In a JV/Consortium environment, jointly with the Partners draft
out the JV/Consortium Agreement and negotiate the same.
3. Assist the BDM in drafting suitable clauses in the tender submission
pertaining to areas of contractual and high risk areas.
4. Be part of the negotiation team with the Main Contractor/Client,
especially in agreeing back to back conditions and also drafting
out the Subcontract Agreement.
5. Assist the appointed Project Director (PD) in negotiating and
drafting out major subcontract agreements.
6. Visit periodically various project sites in the region and advise/assist
the PD, appointed QS and the Planning Manager on various contractual
disputes with the Client/Main Contractor and also identifying potential
claims.
7. Assist the PD in drafting our responses on major contractual
disputes and recommending the appointment of any Claims Consultant,
if essential.
8. Review the works of the appointed QS on various project sites
in relation to monthly valuation, evaluation of variations, valuation
and issuance of subcontract payment certificates.
9. Advise and train Junior QS on various sites in relation to overall
QS function.
10. Submit monthly reports to the RD on assessment of any contractual
disputes with the Main Contractor/Employer, any major risks associated
and also potential claims to and from the Main Contractor.
3. Engineering Manager - Eng001
Reports to: Project Director / Dy Project Director
Role & Responsibilities:
• Overall Management of engineering & drafting activities
for the project.
• Represent the company in engineering meetings with Main
Contractor, Consultant & Client.
• Ensure that all the drawings (shop drawings, builders work
drawings & coordination drawings are produced as per the program
and as per site requirements.
• Ensure that the quality of drawings is in accordance with
the criteria identified for the project.
• Ensure that the latest available information, as received
from the main contractor/consultant is fully incorporated in the
produced drawings.
• Raise ‘request for information’ for missing
information and/or clarification matters with the main contractor.
• Review and incorporate all PMI’s, if received prior
to issue of shop drawings and update approved shop drawings, where
necessary, to incorporate changes.
• Advise senior managers as to the required manpower &
other .resources for the engineering department.
• Provide feedback to Procurement Department as regard to
equipment specifications and quantities.
• Advise the Construction Manager regarding any specific
technical requirements for the installation of specialized equipment.
• Coordinate with Coordination Manager to ensure that technical
requirements of other package contractors & external agencies
are incorporated.
• Provide technical input to the Quality Control Manager
with respect to the preparation of work related method statements.
• Carry out joint goal setting of direct reportees, conduct
their formal appraisals & feedback sessions at least twice a
year, identify their training needs, encourage them to attend development
initiatives, participate in mentoring initiatives and implement
action plans for improved Employee Engagement.
4. MEP Coordination Manager - MEP001
Reports To: Project Director/ Dy Project Director.
Role & Responsibilities
• To coordinate with Engineering Department for production
of builders work drawings & ensure that requirements of other
package contractors and external agencies are incorporated.
• To coordinate with engineering department in preparation
of consolidated drawings incorporating services of other package
contractors and third party systems.
• Keeping track of revisions to contract drawings, Engineer’s
Instructions and variations and ensure that latest drawings &
information are used in preparation of shop drawings.
• Provide reminders, in advance, to the Project Director
and Construction Managers for any anticipated conflict that may
happen in the future with respect to the simultaneous activities
of all MEP trades, main contractor and other package contractors.
• Internal follow up for timely submittal and approval of
materials & shop drawings.
• Coordinate among Engineering, Procurement & Construction
Departments to ensure that all required information and materials
are available on time.
• Review and update E1 and E2 logs periodically.
• Submit daily construction reports, weekly reports and monthly
reports to client / consultant as per contract requirements after
collecting data from various departments.
• Review progress at site in coordination with planning and
Construction Departments, do variances analysis and provide necessary
feedback to Project Director, Engineering Manager and Construction
Managers.
• Liaise with QS dept. in producing monthly bills in coordination
with planning & construction depts.
• Coordinate & liaise with QS department to maintain
variation register and ensure that changes/variations are informed
to all concerned departments.
• At Project close out, coordinate the production of as built
drawings and O&M manuals to ensure these are delivered as per
contract requirements
5. MEP Coordinator - MEPCO001
Responsible for: Coordination Draghtsmen
Reports to: Project Director
Objective: To coordinate with Main Contractors’ engineering
staff on all aspects of MEP works and ensure that provisions are
made and requirements are met as per specification requirements.
Qualifications: B.E (Mechanical / Electrical)
Roles and Responsibilities:
• To supervise the production of co-ordination drawings to
ensure that all services are coordinated with each other and the
building structure is complying with the contract requirements
• Ensure all builders’ works drawings are comprehensive
and discussed with the various engineers for the best implementation
and installation of services in coordination with other parties
and main contractor.
• Provide reminders, in advance, to the Project Director and
Construction Manager for any anticipated conflict that may happen
in the future with respect to the simultaneous activities of all
MEP trades and main contractors.
• Follow up the status of material and shop drawings and keep
all parties informed of the status.
• Follow up the implementation of the Client’s comments
in timely manner.
• Distribute detailed information, documents and regulations
as applicable to all concerned parties and ensure their acknowledgement
and adherence to its contents.
• Check the activities on site and provide the necessary reminders
to the Project Director, Construction Manager and the Planning Engineer
for any immediate action.
• Coordinate with Main contractor’s MEP Coordinator
and other Engineering staff.
• Submit daily construction reports, weekly reports and monthly
reports to client / consultant as per contract requirements after
collecting data from various departments.
• Review progress at site in coordination with planning and
Construction Departments, do variances analysis and provide necessary
feedback to Project Director, Engineering Manager and Construction
Managers.
• Liaise with QS dept. in producing monthly bills in coordination
with planning & construction depts. Coordinate & liaise
with QS department to maintain variation register and ensure that
changes/variations are informed to all concerned departments.

6. Project Director - PD001
Reports to: Regional Head / Director Projects
Role & Responsibilities:
• Overall Management of the project and representing the
company with Main Contractor, Consultant & Client and at the
management and progress meetings.
• Controlling & monitoring the progress of the project
on time as per approved project schedule within the approved budget
and achieving monthly TO & GM targets. Timely submission of
cost & profitability statement.
• Establishing Project Quality Plan and Project Safety Plan
within 30 days of taking charge of the project and ensuring implementation.
• Contract documentation & ensuring that the variation
/ claims are submitted accurately, correctly ,on time and effective
follow up for settlement within agreed timelines. Focus on Value
engineering , cost control and meeting profitability improvement
targets.
• Carry out joint goal setting of direct reportees, conduct
their formal appraisals & feedback sessions at least twice a
year, identify their training needs, encourage them to attend development
initiatives, participate in mentoring initiatives and implement
action plans for improved Employee Engagement.
• Customer Relationship Management for positive referrals
leading to additional profitable business and building up strategic
tie ups.
• Approvals of all suppliers and sub-contractors invoices
and other project expenses and release of payment.
• Effective participation in Quality, Business Excellence
& KM initiatives.
7. Quantity Surveyor - QS001
Responsible for: Assistant Quantity Surveyors
Reports to: Project Director
Objective: To control the financial, contractual and legal aspects
of a project
Qualification: Degree in Quantity Surveying &/or of Member
of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS -UK) or Associate
Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AAIQS)
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Initial preparation of standard formats for variations,
interim valuations acceptable to Consultant.
• Raising interim payment applications and agreeing with Consultant
and preparation of statement at completion and agreeing the final
account.
• Identify the variations and assisting the Quantity Surveyor
for logging
• Contract correspondence
• Advise Project Manager (Voltas’) with regard to contractual
and legal matters in case of disputes.
• Advice on insurances and bonds applicable to the project.
• Valuation of variations and liaise with Electrical, ELV,
Mechanical & Plumbing Departments for necessary substantiations.
• Attending internal meetings and site progress and coordination
meetings.
• Negotiation and agreeing the variations with Consultants.
• Drafting subcontract agreements and preparation subcontract
documents.
• Scrutinizing subcontractors’ interim payment applications
and issuing payment certificates.
• Negotiations and agreeing the subcontractors final accounts
and variations.
• Preparation of claims related to prolongation, etc.
• Internal cost reporting (preparation of status of final
account including subcontractors)
• Preparation of monthly cost reports required by the Consultant.
